Weather For Today
Noah!
by marilyn on Mar.19, 2010, under Weather For Today
After a fabulous afternoon of streaking lightening and roaring thunder, the rain has begun it’s filling up of the streets. We are always amazed at the power and beauty of the clouds and rain. Caleb is videoing at the moment. He should be asleep, but with action like this happening in the sky, he’s too excited.
40 Days and 40 Nights

I can understand how God could flood the earth, if it was all done by Texas rain. It started raining last night, not too hard, but for the last three hours…well, you have to experience it. I had a meeting at ACU but had to turn around and come home cause the driving entrances to the campus were all flooded and running like a river. My little puddle jumper only jumps puddles, not lakes
It’s still warm, but it’s suppose to get colder tonight, so tomorrow may be a nightmare. It’s great that Dwayne only has to drive 5 minutes to work and the airport is only 10 minutes away. Oh, and the thunder and lightening constant. Fortunately, no hail! yet….
Its REALLY Snowing
by Dwayne Harapnuik on Dec.24, 2009, under Weather For Today
A genuine blizzard hit southwest Texas and most of the rest of the central and eastern US. A picture of blowing snow isn’t news to most Canadians so I will include the pictures of the boys as they came back in from playing in the snow.
As you can see in the background of the above picture there is very poor visibility. At one point you couldn’t see much more than 10 – 15 feet. The biggest difference between a blizzard in Texas and ones back in the Canadian prairies is the temperature–at its coldest is just went down to just a few degrees below freezing. Because it isn’t that cold the snow sticks to everything.
Starting to look a lot like Christmas!
Cold Cold

Today is Dec 14 and I had just got back from the skate board park and I was really hot, so I went swimming in our outdoor pool
Ha. But it was 51 F (10C) and the water felt like it was filled with ICE . I was only in the water for 3 seconds because I jumped in, felt how cold it was, swam as fast as I could to the edge, got out of the water and we went home. I learned that you shouldn’t go swimming in December.:-)
A New Song
by marilyn on Oct.21, 2009, under Life in Abilene, Weather For Today
Yesterday, I parked the van under a tree for shade and when I hopped back in the wind had started to blow a bit. I heard what sounded like hailstones hitting the roof of the van, but it was sunny and warm. Hmmm, what could that be? As I pulled away, the “hailstones” started rolling across the roof and drop off the side of the van. That’s when I realized I had parked under an acorn tree.
“Acorns keep falling on my van”, sounds like the words to a new song; Tessa, Brianna, Levi and Caleb…you can start composing about the big, blue, ugly van
